With the addition of the Command Center, we tried shrinking the menu bar to a hamburger menu to make space. You must right-click on one of the items in the title bar that you would like to hide. Mouse position is used to determine the behavior when triggering with Alt+Space, so the custom menu will appear if it sits on top of the title bar.įor Linux users, due to issue #156397, the empty space in the title bar will not open a context menu. While there are already settings to hide each of these elements individually, you can now right-click the title bar to access a context menu that toggles the menu bar (not shown on macOS desktop), Command Center, and layout controls.įor Windows users expecting the system context menu, the menu can still be triggered by right-clicking the VS Code icon in the top left corner of the window or by pressing Alt+Space. PITCH: For planet approach from space, the pitch is intuitive, use a beautiful ballistic arc, a NON-SUICIDAL arc, with one finger on the stick. This is automatic if you set throttle to around 50, I forget if blue throttle zone is correct or too fast. And you must have your speed decreased to about 2,500 before gliding / before hitting 25km altitude. That’s your altitude within which you must glide to destination at an appropriate pitch. It automatically engages at 25km, and automatically cancels at 3km. ALTITUDE: The glide altitude is between 25km and 3km altitude. You don’t have to do an annoying horizontal flight teetering on the edge of cancelling glide. But you can approach at a sharper angle than you think, which means you can (practically) nose dive dive bomb to destination. In glide, as you know, you have to stay within the pitch envelope. So do not get that low until you are at destination. Triangle Geometry guide: if distance to target is twice your altitude, then you’ll be coming down at about -30 degrees (below level/0).If it’s dropping down to the limit too soon or too fast (meaning you are too far from destination but about to break into glide), then you should nose up for level flight and fly horizontally for a while. You want the altitude bar (to the right of HUD) to smoothly be dropping down to the limit on your way to destination. Sync your deceleration and altitude so that you hit 2500 speed as you hit the (25km) altitude limit.at fairly close range to destination (can’t cite a km figure, too rusty). So you need to horizontally fly in orbital cruise to get close to destination, without letting altitude drop too early.

Afterwards, I realized the vet probably didn’t want to drive into an unknown situation by herself. Nonetheless, since I couldn’t get Trixie to stand, and the on-call vet didn’t really want to drive 30+ miles, I drove 28 miles in the opposite direction to go to a health foods store. I couldn’t figure how she could possibly be short on minerals. For the month prior to kidding, I had been giving them molasses water and apple cider vinegar water, of which they had been drinking 5 gallons each, every day. The goats/sheep have access ad lib to kelp, loose minerals, baking soda, and a goat/sheep block. And most of the time, the goat has plenty of calcium, she just can’t access it. It has to do with low calcium in the blood. Contrary to the name, there is no fever with Milk Fever. When they kid, there is a huge drain of minerals on their system. Apparently, it happens in high producers. The vet figured Trixie had Milk Fever, with possible complications of Ketosis. She also had a sweet-sour rotten smell to her. But when I passed a flashlight over her eyes, her pupils didn’t contract like they should have. Her pupils were dilated, but she was in a dark shed, so I didn’t think too much about it. In fact, she preferred to lay under the heat lamp that I had turned on for the new babies. I didn’t know what it was, but she didn’t feel hot to me. Not a great thing to do, but when you don’t know what else to do, I guess it’s better than doing nothing.Īfter a bit, the on-call veterinarian from the last number I had contacted, called me. Not knowing what else to do, I gave Trixie Belle 3 cc of penicillin, 30 mL of Goat NutriDrench and some ProBios. I contacted that vet and got their answering service. The other gave me the number of the veterinarian that he uses. One said they had lost two goats earlier this year to similar symptoms. If I couldn’t get her to stand, how was I to get her in the car and 40+ miles down the road? I contacted two local goat breeders. Two of the numbers had been disconnected, and three had answering machines referring me on to some emergency place in Spokane. I didn’t know if she still had a kid in her, or retained placenta, since her stomach was still pretty good sized. Her eyes were glazed over and she wasn’t usual feisty self. I figured out a way for the baby to nurse while she was laying down.īut then Sunday morning, Trixie Belle wouldn’t stand at all. Trixie Belle didn’t want to stand for the baby to nurse, but I just figured she was tired since it was about 10:30 pm and it had only been 24 hours since she had the kids. Kind of the way it goes with three babies and two teats. Two of the babies had full tummies, but one was still hungry. When we got back, I checked on Trixie Belle, and she was laying down. Saturday night, we went to a meeting so Heather could meet John Phillips, the astronaut. Saturday morning, she was letting the babies nurse and eating hay. She let the babies nurse and headed over to the feeder for something to eat. Sandra Cho, founder and president of Pointwealth Capital Management in Encino, California, recommended the Empower app, offered by the Colorado-based retirement plan provider of the same name. Tiller did not respond to a request for comment. “I personally use and am a big fan of (it).” The service “offers solid budgeting and net worth tracking templates,” Brady wrote MarketWatch. Unlike Mint, Tiller isn’t free - it’ll run you $79 a year, though you can take advantage of a 30-day free trial.īut it could be an alluring option for those skittish about handing over financial information to a third party - Tiller stores your financial data exclusively in your own spreadsheets, according to the company’s website. The service can also send you a daily email summary of recent transactions and account balances. Users can track monthly cash flows and day-to-day spending in customizable categories. The company offers a budget spreadsheet template that can be plugged directly into GoogleĮxcel. Kevin Brady, vice president at Wealthspire Advisors in New York City, recommended Tiller, a more laptop-friendly budget option. Goodbudget did not immediately provide comment. “Just tracking your expenses in an app may be helpful, but knowing exactly how much you can spend in the future (to) keep your budget on track - that is the key.” “It’s similar to the old envelope budgeting system from the past,” Giles said. Like Mint, the app allows users to set up a budget based on categories and easily see how much money they’ve spent and how much more they can afford to spend during the month. “I would put in a vote for Goodbudget,” said Robin Giles, founder of Apex Wealth Management in Katy, Texas. “It’s incredibly useful to see where most of your money is flowing,” he wrote in an email. Honeydue could not be reached for comment. The app is designed for couples but can be helpful for individuals too, he said. Here are some of their suggestions:Īndrew Herzog, a certified financial planner at The Watchman Group in Plano, Texas, uses the Honeydue app. MarketWatch asked financial advisers across the country what their favorite budgeting apps and tools are, and why they recommend them to clients. The move to ditch the app surprised some loyal Mint customers, some of them posting on Reddit that they’ve been using the app for several years and were disappointed to see it go.īudgeting apps can come with concerns about security and data privacy - although many of them use banking-level protections to keep user data secure, they often require entering your digital banking or credit card information to track spending.īut they can also be a useful and convenient method for keeping tabs on where your cash is flowing. “We know that many Minters love our budgeting features, so we understand this may be disappointing.” “Credit Karma does not currently provide budgeting features the same way that Mint has in the past,” the website reads. But some of the budget tools that Mint offered will disappear. It added that the service is “on its way to becoming a full-service financial platform.”īut it seems that Credit Karma won’t offer the exact same features that Mint did.Ĭredit Karma will allow users to view monthly and average spending broken down by category, Intuit explained on its website. “This marks the next evolution of Credit Karma,” Intuit said in a blog post on its website announcing the change. In a statement to MarketWatch, an Intuit spokeswoman said the company is “excited” to welcome Mint users to Credit Karma and is giving them “ample time” to prepare for the change. Mint will no longer be available as of Jan. Bill Skarsgaard is again the stuff of nightmares as Pennywise, filling giant clown shoes with aplomb and putting his own spin on it. All the adults are very well cast, with Bill Hader absolutely killing it as Richie, and the children are great again especially Finn Woolfhard and Sophia Lillis (the standouts in the first too). There is one improvement here over the previous film, Mike is much more interesting here which was necessary as this time as an adult he is something as the glue of the group. There are memorable moments here, the Mrs Kersh encounter, the Fortune Cookie scene and the very freaky beginning (am amazed they managed to film this scene) being standouts. The story is not just a horror story, but also blends humour (mostly from Ritchie), emotion and a 'Stand By Like' like nostalgia. The book is huge and both the child and adult time-lines need a quite long length to do it justice, having said that the middle act definitely could have done with a trim. Much has been said about the film being too long, am mixed on this consensus personally. Andy Muschietti directs with suspense, potent realism, confidence and affection, while the writing (which is also remarkably true to King's style) has a great balance of hilarious comedy, touching drama and affectionate nostalgia. The music is haunting without being over-scored, ever since the first film it has been impossible to hear "Oranges and Lemons" in the same way again and that opinion has not changed. Epileptics be warned though, there is a scene towards the end of the middle act that is heavy in strobe lighting effects. The production values mostly are terrific, not just the lighting but also the beautifully realised Derry setting, taut editing and cinematography that's both stunning and unnerving. However, as was said before there is a lot to like. Lets not get started on his very rushed, too easy and quite stupid defeat. Henry Bowers is also extremely underwritten, and both has little presence when having barely any screen time and quite badly overacted. The defeat of IT is beyond dumb and really undermines a final act that actually started off quite powerfully despite also being a bit too drawn out. IT's true form comes off worst and is as bad, am not kidding here, as that in the mini-series which is notoriously universally panned. The special effects are more variable this time round and suffer too from overuse. Some flashbacks being more interesting than others, with Ben's and Richie's being quite unnerving, Eddie's (the too long adult encounter not much better) was neither scary or memorable. Especially in the middle act, where it meanders due to being too flashback heavy. While there is a good deal to recommend, there are some glaring problems. Chapter 1 is the better film, but the second film is better than the second half of the mini-series on the whole and again it is a more than admirable and brave attempt at adapting an extremely difficult and near-unfilmable book. The mixed reception is more than understandable but it is not as terrible as the more negative reviews say in my view. Actually did find a lot to like about it, with a lot of what was great about the first film still here, and for me it is better than has been said. Absolutely loved the first 'IT' film from 2017 and consider it better than the mini-series personally. The 1990 mini-series is an uneven one, with a great first half and disappointing second half with the ending and IT's true form having notoriously poor reputations for good reasons. Stephen King's novel is a masterpiece, didn't properly appreciate it on first read but with King's style being much more familiar to me (whereas it was a bit of a shock at first) it still stands as a genuinely scary, nostalgic, at times very funny and very powerful book and one of his best. Not sure what you mean by the thumb pad on your mouse. If you expose the setting I'll have a play around with it then. Most of the time they're better, but still mustn't be quick enough for the wait time you've set. My monitors can take a good 10 seconds to sort themselves out at times (god knows why.) so that would be hard to deal with with a universal setting. Seemed to be set to ctrl which works till esc is there :)Īhh, that would make a lot of sense. You can set a modifier key to cancel a gesture in the General settings tabĪh sweet, I must have missed the setting. Honestly, even without any of the above being fixed / added, I'm still fairly sure I'll buy it at the end of my trial even just to encourage continued development :) That way I can just use one app and one bit of muscle memory between my two setups (but I could imagine that's a lot of work and not exactly what this app is right now). Is there a way to cancel a gesture once started?Īny plans to track mouse gestures? For example, I use an MX Master when my laptop is docked, being able to hold down the thumb pad and do the same movements as the two finger gestures to resize windows would be awesome. Just a little annoying to deal with on an almost daily basis, but wouldn't actually stop me using it I don't think. When I put my windows in a configuration with Swish when out and about, then either plug in or unplug my monitors, the window arrangement goes from whatever I had (for example this) to all the windows bunched up in the corners (like this where the finder windows were on one monitor and the HackerRank window with Java code was aligned to the right half of a secondary monitor). I use my laptop out and about and also hooked up to two monitors at home. I've got a couple of questions / comments though. Hey Chris! I saw this on twitter, and I love the concept! I installed the free trial a couple of days ago, and am enjoying it so far. This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc. If you'd like to view their content together, click here. By Act 2, I can find myself just leaving gems on the floor, while by Act 3 there's gems everywhere. In addition to all of that, you're limited to just 3 Flash Gems. Also, the +25 Gold Reap Gem, Dissolve gem if acquired late in the run isn't all that great, either. I rarely use the draw 1, discard 1 gem, or the +2 power, take 5 damage gem. The only major issue I have with the gem system is the limit of 6, and no way to drop unwanted gems. I can't see completing anything above 15 without extensive Flash Gem usage barring some perfect initial setup. They've definitely made runs doable in the 10+ Epilogue range. However, once I did unlock Flash Gems, I can't see playing the higher difficulties without them. I too, thought Flash Gems would be a pain. The +10 Healing Gems are also quite nice, and there's a +3 Draw gem. Flash gems are exceptionally powerful, especially the 2x and 3x damage gems. A 3 percent chance at having a extra gem slot in a card is nothing compared to starting with an extra treasure or gems. the costs ramp up very steeply and the cost seems to have little to do with the actual impact on play that the embellishments provide. Originally posted by ClkWrkCuttlfish:Do the flash gems take the place of any normal rare drops? If so then it seems like a sidegrade at best or maybe even an outright downgrade. Just try not to be too mean to each other. Happy to see some good conversations going on. So those are some thoughts that you might appreciate. If you haven't seen it, we also plan on reworking the Mist boss as well. One thing we're looking at doing is lowering the cost of the "reveal final boss" embellishment so players don't feel so kept in the dark about what to expect. By the time you're a few Epilogues deep, most of the upgrades left should be relatively smaller improvements.Īnyway, we still plan on tweaking the progression tree a bit. Epilogues for example deliver huge bonuses when you complete them for the first time. You should be able to get most of the important upgrades very early on in Roguebook. The very top of the tree is front-loaded with very powerful upgrades. The other purpose of meta progression of course is much more traditional, For those that have a lot of difficulty completing their runs, we try to lower a helping hand early on. Ideally, after a few runs the player has begun to collect most of these more complex mechanics. We think Roguebook can be a fairly complicated game, so we want to slowly onboard new players to what can be seen as more difficult concepts like the Alchemist, Faeria Wells, treasures on the map, replacing starter deck cards, etc. One important purpose behind our meta progression system is to remove some of the complexity from the world map in the player's very first run. That said, it doesn't mean it isn't difficult. It was regularly accomplished in testing, and we've seen a bunch of players do it since release - which is reassuring. Meaning: You can pick up the game, play it, and defeat chapter 3 without ever losing once. (Not saying our design is the correct one, but I'll just clarify what our intentions are:)įirst of all, it is completely intentional that a player's very first run is completable without any meta progression whatsoever. I realize it's a bit of a sensitive topic and players have different opinions on how it should be handled in roguelikes / roguelites. I want to make sure the design intention of our meta progression is clear. Just wanted to make an all-encompassing post about this as I've seen some comments scattered here and there about it.
